The island of Pellestrina appears as a thin strip of land situated between the Adriatic Sea and the Venice Lagoon. This absolutely unique territorial context determines the presence of a stormwater drainage network on the island that is unparalleled in terms of both the hydraulic structures and their functioning. The efficient operation of the drainage system in such a singular context is of vital importance both for the island’s inhabitants and for the population of the entire Venice Lagoon. By preliminarily analyzing in detail the composition and operation of the system and highlighting its main criticalities, this thesis work aims to carry out a verification of the network using the SWMM software in light of recent climatic variations, considering both design rainfall data (limited to the year 1986) and the pluviometric records collected over the last few decades. The verification reveals that the island network, although showing some issues, operates effectively with the design rainfall data, while it presents significant difficulties and critical elements in relation to the most recent rainfall records.

Abstract
The verification reveals that the island network, although showing some issues, operates effectively with the design rainfall data, while it presents significant difficulties and critical elements in relation to the most recent rainfall records.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
