Il teatro delle feste e la teoresi spettacolare di Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo

My degree is focused on the figure of Mariano Fortuny. In particular, the research analyzes the artist's activity, starting from his different activities, such as painting, set design, lighting design and fashion. It proceeds with the analysis of his ideas, identifying in the quality of light the true heart of his poetics. The body of text deals more specifically with Fortuny's work and the impact it had on theater and stage reform in the early twentieth century. The specific subject of the thesis, concerns the design of the "Teatro delle Feste," conceived by the Venetian artist as a work of authentic classical beauty harmoniously revitalized by its modern spectacular technology.

La mia tesi di laurea è incentrata sulla figura di Mariano Fortuny. In particolare la ricerca analizza l'attività dell'artista, partendo dalle diverse attività che svolge, come pittura, scenografia, illuminotecnica e moda. Si procede con l’analisi delle sue idee, individuando nella qualità della luce il vero cuore della sua poetica. Il corpo di testo tratta più nello specifico il lavoro di Fortuny e l’impatto che ha avuto sul teatro e sulla riforma scenica di inizio Novecento. L'oggetto specifico della tesi, riguarda il progetto del “Teatro delle Feste”, concepito dall’artista veneziano come un’opera di autentica bellezza classica armoniosamente rivitalizzata dalla sua moderna tecnologia spettacolare.
