"This study aims to understand whether and how fathers of sons and daughters with Autism Spectrum Disorder employ coping strategies to manage everyday life, with particular attention to their perception of quality of life and daily challenges. To achieve this goal, a questionnaire was administered, consisting of both questions developed by the authors of the questionnaire and standardized tools: the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS), the Coping Orientation to the Problems Experiences - new Italian version (COPE-NVI), the Pediatric Inventory for Parents (PIP), and the Child Adjustment and Parent Efficacy Scale-Developmental Disability (CAPES-DD). The questionnaire aims to identify gender and parental role differences in coping strategies between fathers and mothers, exploring how these differences may influence family dynamics and the psychological well-being of the father and, consequently, the entire family. The results obtained will provide an in-depth view of how fathers manage the daily difficulties related to caring for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder, offering insights for developing interventions aimed at improving the quality of life for these families."
