What is normality? It is a question whose answer often seems obvious and unchanged over time and within different social and cultural contexts. The objective of this paper is to analyze the categories of "normal" and "pathological" through a historical-philosophical perspective by taking into consideration the works of two French philosophers: Georges Canguilhem, who lived between 1904 and 1995, and Michel Foucault , lived between 1926 and 1984. The history of recent contemporary philosophy, especially in the French area, has always been pervaded by normality and pathology. This analysis therefore allows us to understand how the concept of normality and pathology is not obvious and invariable but is complex, multiple and constantly changing; change influenced by culture, science, society and power structures. The second part of the work analyzes the impact of philosophical counseling within communities; a practice that allows the application of theoretical reflections on normality and pathology. Philosophical counseling aims at well-being and a more dynamic vision of normality, based on philosophical dialogues and not on clinical interventions. It allows you to stimulate deep reflections, conscious decisions, clarity in your existential questions and a different vision in understanding and managing human problems.

Abstract
It allows you to stimulate deep reflections, conscious decisions, clarity in your existential questions and a different vision in understanding and managing human problems.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
