This thesis aims to conduct an exploratory investigation regarding the closure of the minor episcopal seminary of the Diocese of Padua, based in Rubano (PD), which occurred in 2022. The research question of this thesis consists in verifying how and to what extent the beliefs and the relationship with the Faith of the last seminarians who resided here have changed, from the experience of community life to the definitive closure of the institute. To do this, in-depth interviews will be conducted consisting of a set of closed, open, structured and Likert scales, in which the five parameters will be taken into consideration Glock (1964) which allow us to identify "religiosity", that is: belief, the religious knowledge, practice, belonging and experience. It is present in the first chapter a historical account concerning the birth of the modern seminary in the era of the counter-reformation, with attention to the last decades of this episcopal institute, from the structure of Tencarola, in the 1970s, up to the definitive closure of the headquarters in Rubano, which occurred shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic. In the second chapter the methodology and methods used will be exposed to conduct the questionnaires. In the third chapter there will be interviews aimed at last educators of the minor seminary of Rubano: the pro-rector, the spiritual father and the vocations animator who resided here together with the seminarians during the period prior to closing. In the fourth, the tables relating to the items will be shown Glock religiosity parameters based on questionnaire responses from seminarians. The fifth section will report the open interviews of the seminarians regarding the their relationship with the Faith before, during and after the experience lived in the seminary. In the sixth conclusions will be drawn to verify, in the light of the data collected, whether the question of research has obtained satisfactory results or not and whether they can leave any traces future research in the field of sociology of religions in Italy. Michael Quinn Patton (2015, p. 31) reports a sharp criticism made by Ophelia Benson (2013) regarding the production of anecdotal data deriving from the type of open interviews (present in fifth chapter), which states that "the plural of “anecdote” is not “empirical evidence”". However, as this is still a poorly explored area of research, it can certainly be done obtain starting points for any future research on this same topic.
