Introduction: music has some characteristics that act on out body as a whole. As a matter of fact, it causes some physiological and emotional changes that affect our entire body and its movement. Goal: the aim of this script is to analyse in depth the characteristics of music highlighting its possible applications within neuropsychomotor practice and proposing a personalised intervention in which music is an effective tool for treatment. Materials and methods: following a literary review concerning the effects that music causes to the human body, three children between the ages of three and six and with a different diagnosis were involved in the study. An intervention involving music was personalised on them. Some songs were also analysed to facilitate their appropriate application in the rehabilitation intervention. The aim was also pursued through the development of the “Neuropsychomotor observation sheet in a musical context”; to analyse the child’s spontaneous behaviour in the absence and in the presence of music. Discussion: the use of these tools and the analysis of the data and observations that emerged, highlighted the difference of the child’s spontaneous behaviour in the neuropsychomotor environment with or without music. These elements emphasise how it allows to create some unique situations and sensations that act directly on the child by modifying and regulating his state and supporting his performance. This allowed to structure a personalised rehabilitation treatment, identifying the best strategies for adapting to the setting, the proposals and the material through the help of music. Conclusion: from the following thesis work, the importance that music can assume within the neuropsychomotor session and how it can represent a functional tool for the rehabilitation intervention come to light, enriching those which are available to the Neuropsychomotor therapist of the developmental age.
