In 2022, the social cooperative Chirone of Rovigo launched a territorial prevention project. The project's goal was to gather data on the difficulties perceived by parents in managing certain behaviors of their children and, at the same time, obtain information about the parenting styles adopted. The cooperative also proposed to the Professional Education degree program to involve an intern. Thus, this thesis arises from the synergy between the cooperative and the degree program. Following a preliminary literature review on parenting and adolescence, the focus shifted to a specific problematic behavior: Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). This disorder was deemed important to explore because it is reported as one of the most prevalent emerging behaviors among adolescents currently being managed by services. The analysis of the collected data highlights a family configuration in which parents attempt to establish rules and promote dialogue with their children, while recognizing the difficulties arising from the characteristic problematic behaviors and the role vacuum created by the current communication methods used by young people. These young people experience a relational dimension that is often unfamiliar to their parents, who, in turn, lack reference models from their own experiences. The anomie of contemporary society thus places the educator in a critical position that is difficult to escape. On the contrary, the educator is constantly called upon to confront this context without relying on statistical analysis tools or established methodologies.

Abstract
On the contrary, the educator is constantly called upon to confront this context without relying on statistical analysis tools or established methodologies.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
