In recent decades, the concept of public engagement has gained increasing importance in the realms of communication, academia, institutions, and science. The need to establish a broader and more inclusive dialogue with civil society has led to the emergence of an approach that actively involves the public in contexts ranging from scientific research to the management of public resources, from politics to collective decision-making. However, despite the growing relevance and application of public engagement, its definition and understanding remain ambiguous and fragmented. Each field of application seems to interpret it differently, adapting it to its own needs and objectives. In this context, a critical question arises: what does public engagement truly mean? How has it developed, how is it practiced, and what are its current and future implications? This thesis aims to conduct a methodological review and reflection on public engagement in today’s international landscape, analyzing how this concept has evolved, its various interpretations and applications, and the future prospects of a field in constant evolution. This is achieved through a methodological review of existing sources and the analysis of best practices and case studies. Furthermore, drawing on the theoretical reflections and practical examples examined, the thesis seeks to offer concrete guidelines for practicing public engagement, thereby transforming it from a purely theoretical work into an experimental contribution aimed at supporting institutions and professionals in the field.

Abstract
Furthermore, drawing on the theoretical reflections and practical examples examined, the thesis seeks to offer concrete guidelines for practicing public engagement, thereby transforming it from a purely theoretical work into an experimental contribution aimed at supporting institutions and professionals in the field.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
