The paper explores the theme of scientific tourism in Italy, an emerging sector that combines science and culture. Starting from an excursus on the history of tourism in Italy, from its centrality as a cultural destination at a global level to post-modern tourism, the paper reflects on the potential of science tourism as a tool for experiential engagement. Through the study of case histories and the mapping of existing offers in some Italian cities, innovative approaches are outlined to engage visitors in a narrative discovery of the ‘Country System’ through science. In particular, an experimental experience aimed at the Chinese tourist market is proposed, conceived as a prototype of a ‘Grand Tour of Science’. The paper also includes an interview with astrophysicist Alessandra Zanazzi, offering a strategic and multidisciplinary vision to make scientific culture accessible and attractive, enhancing a growing sector.

Abstract
The paper also includes an interview with astrophysicist Alessandra Zanazzi, offering a strategic and multidisciplinary vision to make scientific culture accessible and attractive, enhancing a growing sector.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
