The thesis explores the phenomenon of chemophobia, the irrational and widespread fear of chemicals, through a scoping review of existing scientific literature. Chemophobia, rooted in historical events and amplified by the media, has significant impacts on various sectors, from food product choices to public policy. The objective of this work is to analyze the causes of chemophobia, its manifestations, and the communicative and educational strategies to counter it. During the conduction phase, the thesis adopts the guidelines of the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis, while for the reporting phase it follows the PRISMA guidelines, ensuring scientific rigor and transparency in the results. The first chapter examines the historical and social foundations of chemophobia, the second describes the methodology of the scoping review, and the third discusses the results, highlighting the practical solutions proposed by the literature. The thesis concludes that effective scientific communication and targeted educational programs can reduce the impact of chemophobia, promoting a greater understanding of the benefits of chemistry in everyday life.
