Background: Pre-hospital care plays an essential role in managing all health emergencies, significantly impacting clinical outcomes. Over time, emergency services have evolved from simple patient transport to a complex system requiring rapid and accurate decision-making. The environment in which healthcare professionals operate is unpredictable and requires ongoing training to ensure safe and effective interventions. Timely and appropriate management of trauma, one of the leading causes of death and disability, is crucial for improving survival rates and reducing complications. Objective: The aim of this thesis is to examine the various methods for acquiring and maintaining the fundamental skills needed to succeed in this field, providing a comprehensive view of the professional pathway and growth within the sector. Materials and Methods: The two research questions were investigated using the PIO method. Keywords were inserted into search strings, and the PubMed database was consulted. The search yielded 9 articles. Results: The results from the analysis of the articles explore the management of patients in emergency situations, highlighting the importance of adequate clinical training, rapid decision-making skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The analysis further explores the benefits of using high-fidelity simulations and debriefing, as well as the challenges faced by both students and professional nurses in this complex and unpredictable context. Discussion: The literature analysis revealed challenges and opportunities for improving care practices. The dynamic nature of these situations requires constant skill updates, with hands-on experience emerging as crucial for handling emergencies and managing stress. A key element is the role of the supervisor, who facilitates learning through support and cooperation, fostering a positive environment. Simulations, through realistic scenarios and debriefing, promote the acquisition of technical and relational skills, stimulating reflection and continuous growth. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of ongoing training in pre-hospital emergency services. It is essential for professionals to develop technical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Rigorous training ensures greater safety for both patients and rescuers. Direct experience emphasizes that every intervention offers opportunities for growth within a continually evolving context.
