Creative Arts Therapies (CAT) are increasingly playing a significant role in university education, not only as fields of study but also as tools for personal and professional growth. These innovative approaches, which include art therapy, music therapy, dance therapy, and dramatherapy, offer solutions to improve psychological well-being and facilitate the development of transferable skills in students. The CATs, united by the common goal of fostering emotional expression and improving interpersonal relationships, have proven effective in the educational context, enriching academic paths and enhancing professional skills. This research aims to explore how CATs can enrich the educational journey of students enrolled in a master's program, analyzing the benefits derived from integrating these practices at both a professional and personal level. The study involved ten participants, students from a master’s program in Creative Arts Therapies, coming from diverse professional backgrounds, including teachers, psychologists, and occupational therapists. These students, motivated to integrate CATs into their work, participated in semi-structured interviews, during which they shared how their participation in the master’s program has influenced their way of working and living. The qualitative data collected were subsequently analyzed through Thematic Analysis, which allowed for the identification of significant themes and connections, contributing to a deeper understanding of the impact of CATs in university education. The results highlighted four main areas of growth: the development of emotional and relational skills, the improvement of psychological well-being, the increase in professional competencies, and the application of CATs in daily life. Participants reported significant improvement in the management of anxiety and stress, due to greater awareness of their emotions and internal resources. The artistic techniques learned during the master’s program enabled them to express difficult emotions and improve communication, with positive effects both in personal and professional relationships. These findings are significant both from a scientific and practical perspective. On one hand, the study fills a gap in the existing literature on CATs, providing new evidence of their value in university education; on the other hand, it demonstrates how CATs can serve as an effective tool for developing fundamental transferable skills such as emotional resilience, relational ability, and self-awareness. This contribution is particularly relevant for preparing professionals capable of facing the challenges of their roles with empathy and creativity.
