Bridging the Comprehension Gap: Text Simplification for Struggling Readers

Reading is an essential skill that allows people to interact with the outside world, gain knowledge, and grow personally as individuals. However, reading challenges still continue to exist across the world, which leads to significant challenges in understanding and education. This literature review aims to explore the concept of text simplification, which is focused on helping individuals who struggle with reading. The study examines the different types, methods, and approaches to text simplification while also paying close attention to their limitations. It recognizes and acknowledges the need for additional research to create new strategies and to confirm the usefulness of the existing ones.
