Sport burnout is a condition of psychophysical exhaustion that can arise in response to prolonged and intense pressures within the context of athletic activity, undermining athletes' well-being and their ability to sustain optimal performance. This phenomenon, characterized by symptoms such as emotional exhaustion, a reduced sense of personal accomplishment, and depersonalization, has become a central topic in the field of sports psychology. This thesis aims to thoroughly analyze sport burnout, exploring its causes, psychological dynamics, and potential consequences on athletes' mental and physical health. Attention is also given to identifying risk factors and protective resources that may influence the development of this condition, including individual, social, and environmental variables. Finally, the study addresses prevention and intervention strategies that can be adopted to reduce the incidence of burnout and promote athletes' well-being. The objective is to contribute to the understanding of a complex issue and provide valuable insights for its effective management in the sporting context.
Il burnout sportivo è una condizione di esaurimento psicofisico che può insorgere in risposta a pressioni prolungate e intense nel contesto dell'attività sportiva, compromettendo il benessere degli atleti e la loro capacità di mantenere prestazioni ottimali.
