In recent years, podcasting has established itself as an accessible and flexible communication medium, enabling the creation of personalized content and facilitating active audience participation. This study explores the potential of podcasts as a support tool for individuals with high-functioning autism, focusing specifically on the case of an individual who, through the production of audio episodes, developed more effective communication skills, expanded their social network, and strengthened their sense of self-determination. The analysis is structured into three main areas: an overview of the history and technical features of podcasting, a theoretical exploration of autism and its communicative implications, and finally, a case study based on interviews and participatory observation. The objective is to understand how the structured use of podcasts can provide a safe and predictable environment in which individuals on the spectrum can gradually and progressively practice communication, improving verbal language management and social interaction. The findings suggest that podcast production not only facilitates the acquisition of new expressive skills but can also serve as a valuable tool for social inclusion and personal empowerment. This study aims to open new research perspectives on the use of audio technologies as an educational and rehabilitative support for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.

Abstract
This study aims to open new research perspectives on the use of audio technologies as an educational and rehabilitative support for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
