In the essays examinated, "The dream" and "the memory of the presentand false recognition", Bergson observes how in both of these phenomena (dream and déjà vu) we witness the splitting of the present into two tendencies that are different in nature: pure perception and pure memory. Those are two slides in which duration, identified with the impersonal creative act, is differentiated. The coexistance of past and present, memory and perception, therefore refers to a virtual multeplicity, duration and creative impulse, which contains them both.

Abstract
In the essays examinated, "The dream" and "the memory of the presentand false recognition", Bergson observes how in both of these phenomena (dream and déjà vu) we witness the splitting of the present into two tendencies that are different in nature: pure perception and pure memory. Those are two slides in which duration, identified with the impersonal creative act, is differentiated. The coexistance of past and present, memory and perception, therefore refers to a virtual multeplicity, duration and creative impulse, which contains them both.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
