This thesis explores the phenomenon of workplace violence in healthcare professions, with a specific focus on hospital settings. In recent years, incidents of physical and verbal aggression against healthcare workers have highlighted an increasingly significant issue, undermining not only the safety and well-being of staff but also the quality of care provided. Through a qualitative approach, the research examines the underlying causes of this phenomenon, which are linked to factors such as workload pressures, staff shortages, and often inadequate organizational dynamics. The study also investigates the consequences of such episodes, both on individuals and within the healthcare system, emphasizing how unreported violence contributes to creating an unfavorable work environment. Special attention is given to the gender perspective, as women are disproportionately affected by workplace violence, particularly in professions like nursing. Lastly, the thesis offers reflections on preventive and corrective measures, including public awareness campaigns, stronger legal protections, and the implementation of effective organizational policies. These interventions aim to improve the safety and well-being of healthcare professionals, contributing to a safer and more sustainable management of human resources within the healthcare sector.

Abstract
These interventions aim to improve the safety and well-being of healthcare professionals, contributing to a safer and more sustainable management of human resources within the healthcare sector.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
