This thesis focuses on Holocaust education in Italian primary schools, addressing the ethical and pedagogical challenges related to memory education for young students. In light of contemporary issues such as antisemitism, denialism, and hollow commemorations, the study reflects on the urgency of cultivating a conscious memory of the Shoah. Starting from a remarkable example of how meaningful the way of presenting this subject is, the thesis analyses the historical context of the Shoah, the core role of testimony—especially through the work of Primo Levi—and the development of relevant national and international educational policies. A descriptive study conducted in primary schools investigates teachers’ perceptions, methodologies, and different approaches to the subject. The final reflections offer critical insights and practical proposals to improve Holocaust education, aiming to promote awareness, empathy, and civic responsibility among future generations.

Abstract
The final reflections offer critical insights and practical proposals to improve Holocaust education, aiming to promote awareness, empathy, and civic responsibility among future generations.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
