Alcohol use disorder is one of the conditions that contributes most to the global burden of disease, mortality and social harm. Over the past 15 years, various research has been conducted on the use of LSD, psilocybin and ketamine, in addition to the psychotherapeutic component for the treatment of alcoholism. However, the procedures used are heterogeneous and there are methodological issues and the risk of bias. This thesis aims to analyze the various clinical studies on psychedelics-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of alcoholism and, by discussing in detail the psychological and neural effects induced by these drugs, which lead to the experimentation of mystical experiences and the emotion Awe, intends to deepen the role of the psychedelic component.

Abstract
Alcohol use disorder is one of the conditions that contributes most to the global burden of disease, mortality and social harm. Over the past 15 years, various research has been conducted on the use of LSD, psilocybin and ketamine, in addition to the psychotherapeutic component for the treatment of alcoholism. However, the procedures used are heterogeneous and there are methodological issues and the risk of bias. This thesis aims to analyze the various clinical studies on psychedelics-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of alcoholism and, by discussing in detail the psychological and neural effects induced by these drugs, which lead to the experimentation of mystical experiences and the emotion Awe, intends to deepen the role of the psychedelic component.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
