The menstrual cycle, through the hormonal fluctuations that characterise it, can have a significant impact on women's health. This is especially true in cases of psychopathology, such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder. However, the literature, especially in the context of cognitive functioning in healthy women, remains limited. This study therefore set out to explore the relationship between two phases of the menstrual cycle , the follicular and luteal phases, and the construct of inhibition, measured using a Go/No-Go task and the BIS-11 questionnaire. A mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies was also hypothesised. The sample analysed included 10 healthy women. No significant results were found to support the initial hypotheses. However, this study may provide insights into the cognitive functioning of healthy women for future studies, in particular by serving as a baseline for comparisons with women with PMDD and PMS.

A mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies was also hypothesised. The sample analysed included 10 healthy women. No significant results were found to support the initial hypotheses.
