This thesis aims to analyze the psychological consequences associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The first chapter explains the origin and definition of the virus, followed by an overview of the main vulnerability factors that emerged during and after the lockdown period. The pandemic is contextualized not only as a health crisis but also as an experience of profound emotional imbalance, affecting both the general population and pre-existing vulnerable groups. Moreover, data from longitudinal studies conducted in Italy and internationally are examined. The second chapter focuses on the exploration of Mindfulness as a psychological intervention practice, emphasizing its secular nature and universal accessibility. The evolution of the concept is traced from its origins to its integration into contemporary clinical practice, highlighting the different protocols: MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy). Finally, the conclusions of the thesis highlight the potential of Mindfulness as an effective tool to address the psychological consequences of the pandemic, outlining future implications.
