Pediatric hydrocephalus represents a heterogeneous condition in etiology, presentation, and prognosis. Neuroendoscopy figures as a key interventional method in pediatric neurosurgery to counteract this pathology and its concomitant causes. In this thesis, a new approach to neuroendoscopy will be explored by taking advantage of intraoperative transfontanellar ultrasonography and examining some cases in which it has been used at the Unit of Pediatric and Functional Neurosurgery of Padua University Hospital, to show the potential of the technique and its advantages.

Abstract
Pediatric hydrocephalus represents a heterogeneous condition in etiology, presentation, and prognosis. Neuroendoscopy figures as a key interventional method in pediatric neurosurgery to counteract this pathology and its concomitant causes. In this thesis, a new approach to neuroendoscopy will be explored by taking advantage of intraoperative transfontanellar ultrasonography and examining some cases in which it has been used at the Unit of Pediatric and Functional Neurosurgery of Padua University Hospital, to show the potential of the technique and its advantages.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
