This thesis explores the topic of the short working week as a strategic lever to promote organisational health, considering it an innovative organisational model aimed at reconciling professional identity with all the social roles that belong to the individual. Furthermore, it is intended to highlight how the short working week can reduce organisational malaise, with particular reference to the psychological constructs of stress and burnout. The first chapter outlines the regulatory framework, followed by an in-depth look at the historical evolution of the organisational model, the concept of organisational health, in terms of work-life balance, and the concept of psychological distress. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of three international case studies in which the short working week has been implemented. The aim is to understand, through empirical studies, the concrete effects on perceived well-being and the consequent reduction of malaise. In particular, the evidence concerns a better balance between work and personal life and a lower level of perceived stress among workers. The third chapter presents the case study experienced first-hand during the curricular traineeship, carried out at a luxury footwear company. An analysis of the results obtained after the implementation of the short working week, as an experimental project of the company, is reported. Suggestions are made and future challenges outlined, which organisations could consider, with the aim of minimising risks and implementing strategic interventions, such as the short working week.

Abstract
Suggestions are made and future challenges outlined, which organisations could consider, with the aim of minimising risks and implementing strategic interventions, such as the short working week.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
