A brief journey through time to one of the most emblematic places of hospitality, the taverns. Initially conceived as places to stop and rest, for those making long journeys, which often became places of agreements and bets, sometimes with disastrous outcomes. Later, they transformed into centers of socialization for the community, especially for the male population, becoming points of reference for venting individual frustrations and for subversive political activities. Many of these taverns have disappeared due to their reputation, while others have been able to evolve by adapting to modern times, diversifying the offer. Today, places called "osteria" are emerging almost everywhere with the intent of evoking simple environments where tradition and sociality are their core.
