The proposed study investigates the effects of intergroup contact through social networks and the role of cognitive liberalization. Through a questionnaire administered to a sample of workers, the study examines whether online interactions with groups different from one's own (e.g., in terms of age, gender, political orientation) can reduce dehumanization toward stigmatized groups (such as homeless individuals or people with intellectual disabilities), by fostering cognitive liberalization. Furthermore, the study explores whether this form of contact— through the mediation of cognitive liberalization—may also have a significant impact on organizational variables. The results highlight the potential of positive intergroup contact via social networks not only as a strategy for reducing prejudice and promoting the humanization of outgroups, but also for improving organizational attitudes and behaviors.

Abstract
The proposed study investigates the effects of intergroup contact through social networks and the role of cognitive liberalization. Through a questionnaire administered to a sample of workers, the study examines whether online interactions with groups different from one's own (e.g., in terms of age, gender, political orientation) can reduce dehumanization toward stigmatized groups (such as homeless individuals or people with intellectual disabilities), by fostering cognitive liberalization. Furthermore, the study explores whether this form of contact— through the mediation of cognitive liberalization—may also have a significant impact on organizational variables. The results highlight the potential of positive intergroup contact via social networks not only as a strategy for reducing prejudice and promoting the humanization of outgroups, but also for improving organizational attitudes and behaviors.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
