This thesis analyzes the relationship between social media, eating disorders, and psychological distress in adolescence, emphasizing the influence of digital content on body image and self-perception. In a context where online platforms are a central part in adolescents’ daily lives, the study investigates how interaction with social media may contribute to reinforcing experiences of body dissatisfaction, emotional vulnerability, and dysfunctional behaviors, often associated with eating disorders. Based on a theoretical analysis and a review of the scientific literature, the work aims to understand the psychosocial dynamics involved and to outline possible prevention strategies, fostering a reflection on the conscious and critical use of social media during adolescence.
