The following paper, bibliographical in nature, aims to investigate the main risk factors that contribute to the development of eating disorders (DCA), with particular attention to the concept of "drive for thinness", or the drive to thinness. This phenomenon can be considered a key element in investigating the severity of an eating disorder. Eating disorders (DCA) represent complex psychiatric disorders, and should be studied according to a multifactorial model to understand their etiology. In particular, this thesis explores the contribution of parenting styles to the transgenerational transmission of these disorders, with a focus on family dynamics that affect the body image and dysfunctional eating behaviors of adolescents. Risk factors of the extra-familial environment, such as perfectionism, negative body image, peer group influence, social media and socio-cultural patterns are also examined. Finally, the paper explores family and social support as a protective factor in the treatment of DCA. The thesis, through the analysis of scientific literature, aims to shed light on the clinical and theoretical relevance of the phenomena mentioned, highlighting the implications for future psychological research and interventions.

Abstract
The thesis, through the analysis of scientific literature, aims to shed light on the clinical and theoretical relevance of the phenomena mentioned, highlighting the implications for future psychological research and interventions.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
