The ISOLPHARM collaboration (INFN-LNL) aims to develop new radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine. Recently, there has been growing interest in molecules that exploit the beta-minus radiation of the silver-111 radioisotope for the treatment of breast cancer. In this thesis work, the student will analyze data on the uptake/internalization of silver-111 in triple-negative breast cancer cells, obtained in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Preclinical in-vivo Research (CAPiR) at the University of Catania. These data will be acquired using a commercial gamma counter and an LBC detector developed by the group.
La collaborazione ISOLPHARM (INFN-LNL) ha l'obiettivo di sviluppare nuovi radiofarmaci per la medicina nucleare. Recentemente, un grande interesse è stato riposto su molecole che sfruttano la radiazione beta- del radioisotopo argento-111 per il trattamento di tumori mammari. In questo lavoro di tesi, lo studente avrà il compito di analizzare dei dati di assorbimento/internalizzazione di argento-111 in cellule tumorali mammarie ottenuti in collaborazione con il Center for Advanced Preclinical in-vivo Research (CAPiR) dell'Università di Catania. Tali dati saranno acquisiti con un contatore gamma commerciale e con un rivelatore LBC sviluppato dal gruppo.
