This paper aims to explore the concept of well-being within the context of Primary School, focusing on what a flourishing form of teaching means for children and how to promote it. The first part of the work is a theoretical framework, witch begins with an analysis of negative factors that hinder students’ well-being at school, and continues by outlining the key elements of educational well-being: the relationships with teachers and classmates, the environment and emotions, and some pedagogical approaches where the student is placed at the center of the learning process. The dissertation will then focus on the thoughts of a group of children through an empirical investigation realized by using focus group methodology and the production of a creative work entitled: “The School as We Like It”. These children, attending fourth and fifth grade classes in a primary school, come from two different educational approaches: the traditional model and the Montessori model. Starting from listening to their experiences and their future desires, the paper will try to understand their point of view on how to promote a teaching method in which everyone has the opportunity to flourish. To conclude, there will also be a short section where the responses and reflections emerged, will be compared, considering both the age group of the students involved and the pedagogical and didactic framework of their respective schools. The aim is to highlight differences and similarities of their thoughts about the contents of this study.
