The aim of this research is to explore the role of body language as a communication medium that can convey emotions and moods, social values, and cultural influences. Starting from the concept that the body is an often underestimated vehicle in the communicative process, the project investigated how specific educational interventions offered to fourth-grade primary school pupils can promote greater awareness of social interactions. To answer the research question, a project was developed with practical activities of three different types aimed at discovering non-verbal communication, introduced and supported by theoretical moments dialogued with the pupils and mediated by the researcher. The course was monitored through a plurality of tests to detect the increase in skills and knowledge through an initial and final assessment, a simulation test, a self-assessment and an evaluation rubric. At the end of the proposal, it emerged that almost all the pupils feel more aware of their own way of communicating through the body, having understood that the body enriches communication by providing more information. In addition, the class has increased skills related to reading others’ emotions, as well as gestures, looks and postures, especially highlighting the presence of cultural and social elements that can influence them. This research helps to highlight the importance of recognising and enhancing aspects of body language as key elements for effective and comprehensive communication.

Abstract
This research helps to highlight the importance of recognising and enhancing aspects of body language as key elements for effective and comprehensive communication.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
