This thesis aims to provide a critical and up-to-date overview of the integration of artificial intelligence in early childhood education, offering both theoretical and practical insights for educators and parents. In an era where technology permeates every aspect of daily life, childhood can no longer be conceived outside the influence of the digital world. This thesis seeks to explore the educational prospects offered by artificial intelligence (AI) in early childhood, with particular attention to the nursery school context. The first chapter examines how childhood and learning are being transformed in the digital age, with a focus on the role of neuroscience and the impact of digital media—including video games—on children's cognitive processes. The second chapter introduces AI as a pedagogical tool, analyzing its benefits and implications for preschool education, along with the ethical, professional, and parental challenges involved in its use. The third chapter focuses on the practical application of AI in nurseries, highlighting how it can support curriculum design and enhance educational resources. Finally, the fourth chapter presents best practices and evaluation tools to ensure a conscious, effective, and inclusive use of AI in educational settings.
