In recent years, Italian schools have become increasingly marked by rich linguistic and cultural diversity, mainly due to growing migration flows. However, this heterogeneity is often overlooked or seen as an obstacle rather than valued as an educational resource. This dissertation explores translanguaging as an innovative pedagogical approach to promote inclusive education and support the school and linguistic development of students with migrant backgrounds. After defining key concepts such as multilingualism and plurilingualism, the study analyses how translanguaging can be practically implemented in schools. Through a series of interviews, the research investigates teachers' perspectives on how translanguaging can enhance the acquisition of Italian as L2 and foster social inclusion. By highlighting teachers’ experiences and challenges, this dissertation aims to inspire a shift in educational practices towards greater linguistic and cultural inclusivity in the Italian context.

Abstract
By highlighting teachers’ experiences and challenges, this dissertation aims to inspire a shift in educational practices towards greater linguistic and cultural inclusivity in the Italian context.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
