This thesis aims to demonstrate that care constitutes the very foundation of educational practice and that, starting from it, it is possible to design and implement truly effective interventions in processes of growth and development. The research investigates the context of residential educational communities for minors and the role of the educator within them. The first chapter provides a definition of residential educational communities, outlining their main characteristics and functions. The second chapter presents the internship experience undertaken in such a community, illustrating how the theoretical framework introduced in the first chapter is reflected in and connected to educational practice. The third chapter offers an in-depth exploration of the concept of care, discussing both relevant theoretical perspectives and practical aspects of the educator’s role, ultimately linking them to the central argument of the thesis.

Abstract
This thesis aims to demonstrate that care constitutes the very foundation of educational practice and that, starting from it, it is possible to design and implement truly effective interventions in processes of growth and development. The research investigates the context of residential educational communities for minors and the role of the educator within them. The first chapter provides a definition of residential educational communities, outlining their main characteristics and functions. The second chapter presents the internship experience undertaken in such a community, illustrating how the theoretical framework introduced in the first chapter is reflected in and connected to educational practice. The third chapter offers an in-depth exploration of the concept of care, discussing both relevant theoretical perspectives and practical aspects of the educator’s role, ultimately linking them to the central argument of the thesis.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
