Juvenile deviance is a complex and multifactorial phenomenon that cannot be reduced to a single definition, but must be analyzed based on the time and space in which it is observed. It is a highly prevalent issue, both in popular culture – so much so that it is considered highly concerning – and in media representations. This paper will attempt to define juvenile deviance through the lens of social work, analyzing its key aspects and using the television series "Mare Fuori" to compare the cinematic depiction with the reality of the phenomenon. A first section will describe the salient characteristics of deviance, beginning with an explanation of the term and its prevalence, before focusing on identifying its various forms and analyzing risk and protective factors. Subsequently, the paper will explore the connection between youth antisocial behavior and specific themes – such as family, psychopathology, organized crime, sociocultural belonging, and gender – by examining the characters in "Mare Fuori." Finally, we will address how to prevent, treat, and combat juvenile deviance, delving into the role of social work and the educational and punitive methods employed in the television series.

Abstract
Subsequently, the paper will explore the connection between youth antisocial behavior and specific themes – such as family, psychopathology, organized crime, sociocultural belonging, and gender – by examining the characters in "Mare Fuori." Finally, we will address how to prevent, treat, and combat juvenile deviance, delving into the role of social work and the educational and punitive methods employed in the television series.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
