This thesis explores the role of affective education within the school context, focusing on its preventive function with regard to bullying and gender-based violence. Starting from a theoretical and legislative framework, the study examines the development of affectivity throughout the life cycle, highlighting the main emotional, relational and cultural factors that influence young people’s behaviour, with particular attention to the promotion of socio-affective skills. The concept is further developed by integrating emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and the ability to build healthy relationships. Schools are identified as privileged environments for fostering positive bonds and implementing structured affective education, supported by specific training for teachers and educators. The analysis is enriched by legal references and an empirical investigation carried out through a questionnaire administered to local schools. This tool aims to explore the perception and management of affective education in school settings, assessing the effectiveness of current programmes and the need for more structured and efficient interventions. The objective of the thesis is to highlight the importance and value of affective education as an essential component of personal growth and the development of a respectful, empathetic, and non-violent citizenship.
