Abstract
In a constantly evolving society, a policy that adapts to change is necessary, so as to be able to update itself in parallel with social progress. To date, thanks to the important feminist and trans-feminist struggles, which have brought to light various issues in which gender equality has yet to be fully achieved, a policy that is more interested in women's issues and beyond is necessary. Intersectional feminism in particular fights for gender equality, but does so by attributing a strong link to different discriminations, having a common cause; in fact, according to fourth wave feminism, machismo, racism, classism and homolesbobitransphobia are caused by a similar matrix: patriarchy. The time has come to take note of this problem even within politics and, for this reason, the introduction of a new, more inclusive and correct approach, capable of representing every individual, is fundamental. This thesis aims to analyze how today's politics is behaving towards ongoing social change, paying particular attention to the current Meloni government; we will focus specifically on the link between political propaganda and women's issues, how the most important authorities are reacting towards feminist struggles and above all on what the government's real interests are in this regard. Is a state with a woman at the head of the Council of Ministers a state that really fights for gender equality? Giorgia Meloni presents herself as the first to hold a position of this type, a victory for a woman finally, but certainly not a victory for all women. Italian women still today, in 2025, struggle against precarious contracts and paid less than their male peers; one in three women suffers male violence and there are still no adequate prevention policies for the phenomenon; the right to choose one's own body, for women today, is increasingly at risk due to objecting doctors and a State that does not protect or guarantee in practice, the law 194; not to mention sexual and emotional education, which is even fought because according to some it would only be a way to indoctrinate in "gender theory".
