This thesis will analyze the Kings League phenomenon as an emblematic case of sportainment, exploring its origins, structure, and economic and growth model. Particular attention will be given to the role of content creators and all the social platforms used to strengthen audience engagement. Through quantitative analyses, the paper will investigate perceptions of the Kings League phenomenon, offering critical insights into sports and football innovation in the digital age.
La Kings League, la nuova competizione fondata da Gerard Piqué nel 2022, rappresenta una delle innovazioni più radicali nel panorama sportivo contemporaneo. Questa competizione va ad unire sport e intrattenimento in un formato ibrido, pensato per un pubblico prevalentemente digitale. Attraverso regole rivoluzionarie e numerosi elementi innovativi e legati allo spettacolo, la lega si propone come una valida alternativa al calcio tradizionale, andando a rispondere alla crescente domanda di contenuti dinamici e interattivi. La tesi andrà ad analizzare il fenomeno della Kings League come un caso emblematico di sportainment, approfondendo la sua nascita, la sua struttura e il suo modello economico e di crescita. Inoltre, particolare attenzione verrà posta al ruolo dei content creators, e a tutte le piattaforme social utilizzate per rafforzare il coinvolgimento del pubblico. Attraverso analisi quantitative, l’elaborato andrà ad indagare le percezioni sul fenomeno Kings League, offrendo spunti critici sull’innovazione sportiva e calcistica in chiave digitale.
