Global motor development represents a fundamental component in the functioning of preschool children. Socio-emotional growth and motor skills can be supported and enhanced through structured physical activity programs. The aim of this thesis is to examine the effectiveness of the Animal Fun program in strengthening motor and socio-emotional abilities in children aged 4–5 years. The first chapter will describe typical motor and emotional development in 4- to 5-year-old children. The second chapter will analyze the impact of interventions designed to support motor development, considering both international guidelines and theoretical references. The third chapter will present the materials and methods of the study: eighteen children attending a preschool in Padua, aged 4–5 years, were heterogeneously assigned to a motor group (Animal Fun) and a narrative group (Storytelling). Before and after the intervention, all children were assessed in both motor and linguistic domains. For motor skills, the Movement Assessment Battery for Children – Second Edition (MABC-2) was used. Prior to the intervention, parents were asked to complete the SPM – Sensory Processing Measure and the MABC2 Checklist; following the activities, only the SPM was administered again. The motor program consisted of 10 sessions, each lasting 45 minutes and conducted twice a week, held in the school’s dedicated gym. The Animal Fun intervention offered activities inspired by nature and animal movements, aimed at improving coordination, balance, and socio-emotional skills. Chapter four will present and interpret the results of the statistical analyses. Lastly, chapter five will offer a discussion of the findings, future research perspectives, and limitations of the study.

Abstract
Global motor development represents a fundamental component in the functioning of preschool children. Socio-emotional growth and motor skills can be supported and enhanced through structured physical activity programs. The aim of this thesis is to examine the effectiveness of the Animal Fun program in strengthening motor and socio-emotional abilities in children aged 4–5 years. The first chapter will describe typical motor and emotional development in 4- to 5-year-old children.
