The thesis analyzes the onboarding process as a potential determining factor in promoting employee retention within organizations. Starting with a review of the literature on the historical and conceptual evolution of onboarding, the discussion will focus on its main components: organizational socialization, training and identification with the company. The aim of this work is to highlight how a well-defined and structured onboarding process can facilitate the integration of new hires, improving the work environment and contributing to organizational well-being, leading to a reduction in turnover rates. Finally, the thesis offers some practical suggestions for designing effective onboarding programs, with particular attention to the relational and motivational aspects that engage new employees during the initial stages of their employment.
