Nutrition represents a key element for both health and athletic performance. This dissertation investigates and compares nutritional knowledge, eating habits, and the use of supplements among individuals who train in weight rooms and athletes involved in individual or team sports, including both amateurs and professionals. The work consists of a theoretical section, focused on the fundamentals of sports nutrition and ergogenic supplements, and an experimental section based on a questionnaire designed to collect descriptive and comparative data. The results indicate that both groups possess a fair level of nutritional preparation; however, despite a slight knowledge advantage among gym practitioners, eating habits appear similar. Athletes attribute greater importance to supplementation and use supplements more frequently. The evidence gathered suggests the need for targeted educational interventions to support better management of macronutrients and a more informed use of supplements. Finally, the study highlights the possibility of future developments through the expansion of the sample, the use of validated systems for monitoring nutritional knowledge and eating habits, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of structured educational programs aimed at improving nutritional competence in the sports context.
