The aim of this thesis is to illustrate and investigate the relationship between mental health, school environment and vagal tone during preadolescence. Specifically, monitoring students’ well-being throughout the school year by conducting assessments at both the beginning and the end of the academic period. Particular attention is given to the role of vagal tone, established like a physiological indicator of emotional regulation. Following an accurate review of the relevant literature, the study proposes a more detailed understanding of changes in student wellness, the potential emergence of psychological symptoms and many suggestions about educational practices aimed at promoting mental health.
