Comparison between the AQ-Child and the CCC-2 in a sample of 145 children aged 4 to 5 years to investigate how the two screening tools interact in detecting subclinical traits related to the Broader Autism Phenotype (BAP) and profiles of communicative–pragmatic risk in preschool children. The results showed a moderate but significant relationship between the total scores of the AQ-Child and the CCC-2, indicating a degree of convergence in their ability to capture subclinical autistic traits. The strongest correlations were observed between the AQ-Child total score and the pragmatic scales of the CCC-2, suggesting that the two instruments identify complementary aspects of the same continuum of socio-communicative difficulties. From the analysis of risk profiles, the CCC-2 appeared to be more sensitive in detecting linguistic and pragmatic risk profiles, whereas the AQ-Child proved to be more specific in identifying autistic traits. The findings suggest that the two questionnaires provide complementary information and that their combined use may yield a more comprehensive assessment of communicative and socio-pragmatic developmental profiles, with particular relevance for the early identification of the Broader Autism Phenotype.

Abstract
The findings suggest that the two questionnaires provide complementary information and that their combined use may yield a more comprehensive assessment of communicative and socio-pragmatic developmental profiles, with particular relevance for the early identification of the Broader Autism Phenotype.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
