Burnout is a common issue among healthcare professionals, affecting both individual well-being and the quality of care. This final dissertation examines mindfulness as a tool for preventing and managing work-related stress. After outlining the main features of burnout and its psychological and organizational implications, the literature on mindfulness-based interventions—particularly Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)—is reviewed. Findings indicate that mindfulness enhances emotional awareness, reduces perceived stress, and supports adaptive coping. The study highlights mindfulness as a valuable preventive and educational resource for promoting resilience and well-being in healthcare settings.
