The Music Ensemble dataset (Talamini et al., 2025) is a large-scale database that provides detailed information on the musical, cognitive, personality and demographic profiles of musicians and nonmusicians. The data was collected from 1438 participants (aged between 18 and 30) at thirty-five research sites located in Europe, America and Australia. In this thesis, the Music Ensemble dataset was analysed in order to observe any differences between musicians and nonmusicians. Differences between musicians and nonmusicians were noted both from a psychological point of view, such as better performance by musicians in certain cognitive tasks, and from a socio-economic point of view, such as higher SES among musicians, mainly determined by the paternal component. The data were also observed by dividing the group of musicians into six subsets, based on the instruments played, with the aim of detecting any differences and similarities between these subgroups. It can be seen, for example, that in some cognitive tasks, certain classes of musicians perform better.
