The aim of the following paper is to explore the influence of parental attachment on peer relationships in adolescence, analyzing both the correlation between the two constructions and the underlying processes. The choice to explore this topic stems from a personal interest in early attachment experiences and the fundamental role they play in laying the foundation for future relational experiences. Furthermore, the choice to focus on adolescence stems from the fact that, during this developmental stage, peer relationships take on a central role in an individual's life, with important implications for psychological well-being. The concepts of attachment and relationships in adolescence will be briefly introduced, and then how these constructs influence each other will be explored through the analysis of studies selected from the scientific literature. Specifically, the goal was to understand how attachment to parents can provide the basis for building future relationships, considering the plasticity of internal working models (cognitive-affective mental structures developed from early attachment experiences, which guide subsequent relational experiences), thus hypothesizing a possible bidirectional narrative influence. The specific contribution of each parent in this process was also explored. Subsequently, the implications of the quality of relationships with peers and parents on psychological well-being were discussed, to understand the importance of optimal relational development for adolescent mental health. Finally, it concluded with an overall reflection that aimed to comprehensively consider the results obtained and draw possible connections and reflections.

Abstract
Finally, it concluded with an overall reflection that aimed to comprehensively consider the results obtained and draw possible connections and reflections.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
