Professional motorsport is a highly competitive and performance-driven environment characterized by intense time pressure, complex operations, and strong interdependence between technical, organizational, and commercial activities. Despite this complexity, the adoption of structured Performance Measurement and Management Systems (PMMS) in racing teams remains largely unexplored in academic literature. This thesis addresses this gap by investigating the applicability of established performance management frameworks within a professional motorsport context. The research focuses on Dinamic Motorsport, an Italian racing team competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Based on a six-month internship within the Team, the study combines direct observations of operational processes, semi-structured interviews, and an internal anonymous survey to analyze the current organizational situation and identify key operational and managerial challenges. Building on this analysis, the thesis proposes a tailored Performance Measurement and Management System designed to support strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and long-term organizational development. The proposed framework integrates a revised Strategy Map, a multi-perspective Balanced Scorecard including both leading and lagging performance indicators, and a phased implementation roadmap. From a theoretical perspective, the study contributes to extending performance management research to the underexplored domain of professional motorsport, demonstrating how established PMMS frameworks can be adapted to high-pressure, non-traditional environments. From a practical perspective, the proposed framework offers a feasible and low-cost management tool that can support racing teams in transitioning from reactive, experience-based decision-making toward more structured and data-informed management practices.
