Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by persistent patterns of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity, frequently associated with impairments in other areas, including emotional regulation. The latter represents a fundamental process that enables individuals to modulate their emotional responses in accordance with environmental demands and the achievement of personal goals, making it crucial for social adaptation and psychological well-being. Furthermore, the literature highlights significant gender differences both in the symptomatic manifestation of ADHD and in emotional regulation strategies and skills. This study aims to investigate the relationship between gender, ADHD and emotional regulation. To this end, four children were examined: two diagnosed with ADHD and two without a diagnosis, matched for age, gender and cognitive functioning. Emotional regulation was assessed using standardised and ad hoc questionnaires, comprising self- and parent-report measures. The results obtained and their clinical implications will be discussed in the present work.
