Handwriting ability represents a fundamental component of human cognitive processes. For a child, being able to write fluently is a decisive element both for academic achievement and for the development of self-esteem. There are many cognitive components involved in the writing process, one of these is fine motor ability. Thanks to fine-motor abilities, in particular graphomotor skills, children can reproduce written symbols by retrieving motor patterns that are essential for handwriting production. The aim of this study is to compare the writing abilities and fine-motor skills of participants with Specific Learning Disorder (SLD, N = 5) and an age-matched group without a diagnosis (not-diagnosed, ND, N = 5) aged between 8 and 16 years. For that purpose, they were administered several tasks, both standardized and ad hoc devised, to assess writing skills and fine motor abilities. The expected result is to find differences between the groups. The results of the analyses will be discussed considering the hypotheses and the relevant literature.

Abstract
The results of the analyses will be discussed considering the hypotheses and the relevant literature.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
