Emotional Processing in First and Second Languages in Bilinguals

This thesis examines emotion processing in bilingual individuals, focusing on differences in emotional perception and semantic processing between a first language (L1) and a second language (L2). It explores how linguistic context, emotional state, and language experience(such as context of acquisition, age of acquisition and proficiency level) influence the processing of emotional and semantic information in bilingual speakers. By analyzing studies on emotion perception and mood effects in bilingualism, the thesis highlights the dynamic relationship between language and emotion in bilingual cognition
