The present study, conducted within the framework of a broader project (the DARE* project), investigates the intensity of motor activity in school-age children through accelerometric data collected in the school setting using wearable devices. Motor activity was recorded during the school day and summarized through three indicators: median activity intensity, standard deviation of activity intensity, and number of activity peaks, defined according to an individual threshold. The study was conducted across different school classes, with a focus on the subsample of second-grade classes, characterized by a larger sample size. The results show marked interindividual variability in motor activity patterns and differences in the distribution of the considered indices. Analysis of the relationship with survey completed by teachers revealed a positive correlation between standard deviation and SDAI-hyperactivity scores, as well as a positive correlation between SDAI-hyperactivity scores and the number of activity peaks. *DARE - 685 DigitAl lifelong pRevEntion initiative, code PNC0000002, CUP: B53C22006450001.
Il presente studio, inserito all’interno di un progetto più ampio (progetto DARE*), indaga l’intensità dell’attività motoria in bambini in età scolare attraverso dati accelerometrici raccolti in contesto scolastico mediante dispositivi wearable. L’attività motoria è stata registrata durante la giornata scolastica e sintetizzata attraverso tre indicatori: mediana dell’intensità dell’attività, deviazione standard dell’intensità e numero di picchi di attività, definiti rispetto a una soglia individuale. L'indagine è stata condotta su diverse classi scolastiche, con un focus sul sottocampione delle classi seconde, caratterizzate da maggiore numerosità. I risultati mostrano una marcata variabilità interindividuale nei pattern di attività motoria e differenze nella distribuzione degli indici considerati, Analizzando la relazione con i questionari compilati dagli insegnanti emerge una correlazione positiva tra deviazione standard e la SDAI-iperattività e sempre una correlazione positiva tra la SDAI-iperattività e il numero di picchi. *DARE - 685 DigitAl lifelong pRevEntion initiative, code PNC0000002, CUP: B53C22006450001.
